Synopsis

Agnieszka, the Central Committee Secretary's daughter, falls for her fellow student Piotr, who is an activist in the opposition student movement. Wanted by the secret police, Piotr is forced to hide out. Agnieszka, in defiance of her family, decides to help her beloved. Her conduct becomes a pretext to remove her father from the Central Committee. The situation in the country is growing tense. The Communist Party is fighting for power while the partisans, due to attempts to manipulate student riots, unleash anti-Semitic campaign. As a result, Piotr gets arrested and lands in prison. Agnieszka, deprived of her father\'s support, tries to save him.
