Squadron 1993

Synopsis

Jeremin, an aristocrat from a noble Russian family, joins the squadron of dragoons as a volunteer, to impress a girl he unhappily fell in love with. At that exact time in Poland an uprising breaks out, known later as the January Uprising of 1863. Jeremin volunteers for the troops sent to suppress it. Now – as he believes – it is enough to defeat the Poles, get an officer\'s insignia together with a number of orders and spoils, and, as a hero and victor, place it all with his ardent heart at the feet of his beloved. However, this "small Polish war" has little in common with romantic visions of noble soldiering, and is completely different from what Jeremin imagined.
